About the artist
Paul D. Van Hoy II resides in Rochester, NY where he received his MFA in Fine Art Photography from the Rochester Institute of Technology. In 2007 Paul received world-wide recognition as Microsoft's Pro Photographer for 2007. Also in 2007, Creative Quarterly recognized Paul as their 'Photographer of the Year'. American Photo Magazine recently profiled Paul's MFA Thesis Series 'Bystander'. Paul's work has been widely published in many other photographic magazines, including After Capture, PDN, Digital Photo Pro, CMYK, Photographer's Forum, Professional Photographer, American Photo, Camera Arts, and Creative Quarterly Magazine.
"At my core, I'm a portrait photographer, a hunter/gather of forms, faces, and expressions. I am most interested in vulnerability and rare moments of discontinuity in which defining moments materialize and disintegrate almost simultaneously. For me, this is what photojournalism is all about. Interaction with strangers through an image capture device changes the dynamic of an already ambivalent relationship. It is crucial that the photographer be improvisational not only on a technical level, but his or her spontaneity should also extend to the persuasions necessary to gain the momentary trust of a desired subject."

I deliver a unique service of photojournalism combined with a fine art interpretation for the day of your wedding. I am dedicated to producing imagery that is timeless and provocative. My highest priority is always the client; exceeding expectations is what separates my work from the work of my contemporaries.
My time is unlimited on the day of your wedding. This encompasses a 14 hour day if required for full start to finish coverage. Full coverage includes everything from the bridal preparations to the final dance and adieu. I will work together with you to assure that your vision is pronounced and artistically preserved in every photograph taken. I look forward to hearing from you and answering any questions you might have.
All packages receive unlimited coverage and there are no additional fees for location changes within a 30 mile radius.
Fotoimpressions maintains a curret passport and offers services world-wide. Please inquire for the most up to date travel rates for your destination.
Also, note that Fotoimpressions releases ALL digital master files (original full resolution images), on average 1500-2000 images, to the bride and groom with an official, legal reproduction and distribution release. If you wish to permanently secure your date - a third of the entire package price is required at the signing of the contract.
